Items to be Completed Prior to University New Student Orientation (UNSO)

This list is evolving as we get closer to UNSO. Please check back regularly for updates. If you have questions, please contact StudentAffairs@Ketchum.edu.

  • Health Insurance - all students must have health insurance as required by California state law.
  • Immunizations - check in with your program admissions team to ensure you have the proper immunizations required for students.
  • Parking Permit - if you need to drive to campus, you must purchase a parking permit. You can order a permit starting August 2. All students who have ordered a parking permit by August 11 at noon will be able to pick up the permit during day 1 of orientation week. Students who purchase a permit after August 11 at noon will need to pick up their permit directly from Campus Safety after orientation.
    • It is recommended that new students purchase the 3-quarter permit that will be valid for the fall, winter and spring quarters. If you continue to purchase parking after your first year, please keep your physical parking permit, as Campus Safety will just "re-up" your number with the new plan that you purchase in future years.
    • Please bring your confirmation email with you to day 1 of orientation. This can be printed or pulled up on your phone.
  • Work Study Documents - if you plan on applying for any work-study positions, please make sure you find and bring with you the documentation you would need for employment (social security card or US passport).
  • Mandatory Student Training - Our goal with this training is to help you become familiar with MBKU's services and support that can help you succeed. We want to acquaint you with the regulations and standards that are expected of everyone in our community. Additionally, this course will help you become familiar with the University's Learning Management System, Moodle. The online training is self-paced and will open by July 1 but must be completed by Friday, August 23. However, we strongly encourage you to complete it before orientation week.

More to come throughout the summer, so check back often!
